  11. I want to use an Amiga as a sampler in a Midi Setup ie the Amiga will
  12. be used to record and play samples and be controlled by an external
  13. sequencer (Cakewalk on a PC) in a larger midi setup. The current
  14. project I am working on requires the use of Cakewalk, so using the
  15. Amiga as sequencer and sample player is not an option.

  17. I am looking for software that will allow me to send midi data to the
  18. Amiga and 'play it' like any other midi module. I have tried a number
  19. of packages but with little success:

  21. QuadraComposer 2.1 (Aminet) the help files tell me it  has exactly
  22. this feature I require, but no matter what I do I cannot get it to
  23. play samples in response to midi in. The midi interface is fine and
  24. works with other packages.

  26. ProjectMidi (Aminet) allows you to assign samples to individual keys
  27. and midi channels and will play them however,  it simply fires a
  28. sample file on request, it does not have facilities for tunning
  29. samples. It is fine for playing percussion samples but unless a
  30. seperate sample is produced for each note (not realistic) it cannot
  31. play melodic samples.

  33. Octamed V5. The Midi in facility here only replaces the use of the
  34. keypad when entering data, playing a single note at a time, it is
  35. neither multi-timbral nor polyphonic.

  37. My only option to-date is to sequence the sample sections on the Amiga
  38. (Octamed)  and the synth sections on the PC and the sync the two
  39. machines toghether. As I am also have to sync tape machines, this is a
  40. real bind, as is swaping between the two software packages.

  42. Anyone got any ideas or know of a suitable package (low cost !) to
  43. make this easier.
